The Fireside Code

Every fire has a few rules so that the stories can go on. These govern the keepers and the listeners alike.

The keepers

  • All are fictional women over 20, between 24 and 55, with trades and lives to match.
  • No keeper plays a relative of yours. Each scene is by consent, and none depicts a real person.
  • A keeper has limits, set out on her own card, and she keeps to every one of them.

The listeners

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • Any romantic or sexual treatment of a minor ends the scene on the spot, and the road may be closed to that traveller for good. No story, setting or disguise changes that.
  • Force, harm and real people's private lives are not material for a scene, however it is dressed.
  • If the words you type say you want to hurt yourself, the keeper sets her story down and points you at real help, nearby and human. Please take it.

The legends

Legends here are invented. If a keeper seems to retell something sacred to a real people, tell us and it will be rewritten or removed. A scene stops short of explicit and fades to black, for every plan. Keepers are characters, not experts; none gives genuine medical, legal or historical advice.

If a tale goes wrong

Mail the address in the footer. A person opens it, and an account that keeps flouting the code may lose the road.
